Attorney at law
Kamila Kochanowska- Romejko

My professional experience includes cooperation with law firms, volunteering with a public benefit organization and providing advice to crime victims, but especially working in economic and criminal departments in all instances of Cracow courts. This allowed me to gain extensive knowledge and practice in solving cases, especially in the field of criminal law. Having insight into the working methodology of courts and prosecutor’s offices, I am able to quickly find the most favorable solution for the client in unusual cases, both as part of consultations of a preventive nature, but also at the stage of investigative proceedings and in court, also after the final conclusion of the case. I represent clients in incidental matters, such as police detention, provisional arrest, bail and related hearings, but also provide comprehensive services as a defender or representative of the injured party in criminal, penal-economic and economic-fiscal cases.

At the same time, where many lawyers prefer to cease providing advice, i.e. after the final conclusion of the proceedings, I continue to provide professional legal assistance. This concerns in particular matters related to the resumption of proceedings, applications for a conditional (health) release, conditional early release (parole) or obtaining consent to serve the sentence in the so-called electronic monitoring system (SDE) and spreading fines and other monetary duties into installments (cases related to criminal executive proceedings, penitentiary cases).

Moreover, my fluent knowledge of English, including legal terminology (international ILEC certificate), allows me to communicate efficiently with clients who do not speak Polish and often have to seek professional legal assistance due to detention in Poland under the European Arrest Warrant procedure or extradition warrant.

In the era of an overcrowded legal market, where most people fight for clients, it is important to find your place. Specializing in particular area of law is a great asset. For me, such a field has been criminal law and procedure since the first years of my studies.

I was provided with excellent education while studying law at the Jagiellonian University, as well as postgraduate studies in evidence law, during which emphasis was placed on the use of theory in practice.

Although I cannot promise my clients that I will win, in my opinion there are no “hopeless cases”, but those that require taking up the  hallenge and skillfully combining knowledge and experience, which is also what guides me in the assistance I provide.
